Irish Events in New York, NY

New York hosts the world’s oldest and largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade down Fifth Avenue, where thousands march amid cheers and sea of green - an annual spectacle rooted in centuries of Irish heritage. Yet the city’s Celtic spirit doesn’t take a winter break: from “St. Pat’s for All,” an inclusive Queens parade celebrating diversity, to the New York Irish Center’s culture-packed “40 Shades of Green” marathon and Stone Street’s iconic St. Paddy’s block party, Irish traditions pulse year-round. Local pubs and cultural organizations from festive pub crawls to dance nights and community workshops keep the fun going in every season.

Irish America 250: That the World May Know

This exhibit, running through the course of 2026, uses the archives of the American Irish Historical Society to display the history of Irish America. 250 years after 1776, we look back on the contributions and stories of Irish emigrants and their descendants in American history. In collaboration with Irish America 250, this is part of a series of events and exhibits throughout 2026. This launch will feature a brief lecture on the planned exhibit--featuring 12 themes for 2026 and a view of the January exhibit theme, “Revolutionary Heroes.”

St Pat’s For All Parade 2026

St. Pat’s for All is New York’s most inclusive celebration of Irish and Irish-American culture. Born out of a demand for visibility and equality, the parade honors the full diversity of the Irish community across identity, politics, history, and heritage. Rooted in the spirit of the 1916 Proclamation - “cherishing all the children of the nation equally”, this march is as much about solidarity and progress as it is about celebration. Expect music, banners, community groups, and people showing up proudly and unapologetically.
