Molly Mc’s traditional, Irish singing pub is named in honour of the formidable Molly Mc Elhinney — beloved granny of our Directors, Johnny and Ryan, and mother to Jack Mc Elhinney. She was, as the Irish saying goes “some woman for one woman”: a business maven, fashion entrepreneur and all-round force of nature. Born in 1914, Molly opened her first haberdashery in 1936, in the front room of her childhood home. With a keen eye for style, she built it into the iconic Mc Elhinney’s women’s fashion store. By 1973, it was so popular that on sale days, local police had to shut down the roads to manage the queues! Her legacy continues through her son Jack, and now through her grandchildren — Johnny, Ryan, and their sister Joanne, who also works in the business. It’s a true family affair, fuelled by generations of passion, grit, and a love for creating unforgettable experiences. At Molly Mc’s, you’re not just walking into a pub — you’re stepping into a story that started nearly a century ago. Come raise a glass to Molly!

14-16 Rupert St, London
Located on Rupert Street at the edge of Soho, it’s a labyrinth of four unique bars over six levels, each with its own atmosphere and personality, as well as the famous Waxy’s tree found at the heart of the pub. There’s something for everyone at Waxy’s! Named after the famous candle maker from Dublin, Finbar O’Connor was born in the year 1788. At 16 years old he followed his father into candle making and soon after became known as ‘Waxy’. He was a big man with a great appetite and capacity for hard liquor. It seems he was not alone amongst men of his craft; their fondness for and ability to consume copious amounts of beer and whiskey are legendary. The excuse for such excess was that candlemakers had to work in such extreme heat that it sapped a man of both energy and bodily liquids. Waxy O’Connor was heard to comment, “Such heat doth parch a man and a parched man is a barren man – Beer is the only cure – us lads could put away gallons in a day”. Water it seems was an unknown elixir!

Its comfy sofas, open fires and relaxing vibe make it a great place to meet friends, grab a quick drink or settle in for the evening. Based over two floors, there’s even a Dumb Waiter upstairs so you don’t have to run down to get your round – how laid-back is that?!?

We go all the way back to the 90s The Porterhouse was founded in Dublin back in the mid-90s, opening their iconic site in Temple Bar in 1996. We opened here in Covent Garden in 2000. Since then, we have been pouring pints of our award-winning craft beers, showcasing some of London’s best live music and screening all major sporting events, particularly rugby, to customers from all over the world. We are still family owned and family run and proud to be independent. We might be one of the largest bars in London, but it does not always feel that way. The bar is split over three main floors, with a number of mezzanine levels in between, as well as boasting one of Central London’s largest beer gardens. Let the fast pace of London pass you by as you sit and drink a pint of Plain Porter, sip on a cocktail, watch your favourite team in action on one of the many screens or dance the night away to the live band.

20 Wardour St, London

Its comfy sofas, open fires and relaxing vibe make it a great place to meet friends, grab a quick drink or settle in for the evening. Based over two floors, there’s even a Dumb Waiter upstairs so you don’t have to run down to get your round – how laid-back is that?!?
