YGA Kentucky Derby Watch Party 2025 at Chicago Gaelic Park

The Young Gaelic Association is having a Kentucky Derby Party! $60 admission get you a 4-hour open bar, appetizer bar, and live music. Wear your Derby best as we will be giving out prizes for the Best Dressed. Guinness will stop by from 4-6pm for pint selfies! Tullamore Dew will be on-site for a whiskey tasting. This event is 21+. Designated Driver tickets are $20/ticket. This ticket does not include access to the open bar.

Chicago Gaelic Park

In 1983 a group of Irish lads joined together to purchase land where they could play their native sports. Volunteer laborers worked together to set the foundation of Chicago Gaelic Park. Virtually all of the labor used to build and maintain Gaelic Park was donated by Irish tradespeople. The materials were donated or sold at cost by local suppliers. Four decades later Chicago Gaelic Park is still a place where GAA games are played. In fact, it’s the largest Irish cultural center in North America. Today Chicago Gaelic Park is now a sprawling complex with 53 acres of property, sports pitches, locker rooms, 3 banquet halls, meeting rooms, and The Carraig, a traditional Irish pub. Since our doors opened in 1985, we have strived to be a place where Irish Immigrants and Irish Americans feel at home. Although we are rooted in Irish culture, we hope to be a place where all people feel welcome. Our community events are open to the public as we believe our cultures are meant to be shared.

Join us on Sunday, October 11th for the 4th Annual Charli Mae Shield. The Charli Mae Shield is a day of football, community and remembrance, held in memory of Charli Mae and in support of families who have experienced baby loss. This year will be a particularly special one as Bear FC make their debut and we welcome Féileacáin Fathers to Chicago for what promises to be a memorable day. The 2026 Shield will also be the first flagship event hosted by the Charli Mae Foundation, marking an exciting milestone as we continue to grow our work supporting bereaved families and raising awareness around baby loss.
