Irish Charities of Maryland

Irish Charities of Maryland (ICM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Irish culture, heritage and community in Maryland while raising money for charitable causes. Its biggest initiative is the Maryland Irish Festival, an annual celebration of Irish music, dance, food, culture and community in Timonium. Proceeds from the festival and ICM’s other activities support a wide range of cultural, educational, religious and community charities, including Irish heritage preservation, schools, care organizations, first-responder groups and other nonprofits throughout Maryland. ICM brings together many of the organizations at the heart of Baltimore and Maryland’s Irish-American community. These include local divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) in Catonsville, Harford County, Towson and Baltimore City; the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH); Emerald Isle Club of Maryland; Friendly Daughters of St. Patrick; Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick – Baltimore; Hibernian Society of Baltimore; Metropolitan Baltimore Fire Emerald Society; Police Emerald Society of Baltimore; and St. John’s Old Tenth Ward. Collectively, these groups organize cultural and social events, preserve Irish traditions and history, support charitable causes, and help sustain a strong Irish-American community across the Baltimore region.
